Was back in Helensburgh for the day to see my mum and dad. We decided since it was a lovely day and had enjoyed the sun we would go for a meal at the new restaurant. As we were a party of 3 I couldn't book a table so were walk ins, but it wasn't a problem at all as we were seated with menus within minutes of arriving. On the whole it was very nice. Long gone are the drunken memories of riverbank and instead an authentic, vibrant and very classic style Italian bistro restaurant.
It has been beautifully thought out right down to the original features of the building being restored. I also loved the big wood fire oven on full view to see your pizza getting cooked.
The staff were welcoming and very friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and the food was fresh and very taste. The menu is small and perfectly formed and there was nothing on it I wouldn't love to eat, in the end my parents enjoyed 2 of the risotto dishes and I had pizza, all were freshly cooked to order, which made for an excellent meal and the gelato for pudding was gorgeous. My dad was also very pleased to see one of his favorite Italian red wine's on the menu (he's a massive wine buff) and took advantage since I was the designated driver. Great end to a sunny Monday and would truly recommend. Xx
Enjoyed our weekday lunch. £9.95 for 2 courses. A good choice of starters and then pizza and pasta choices. It was great to have a gluten free option for my daughter. (£1 extra for GF pizza base) Service was good. Would certainly recommend and have a return visit.
Stopped for lunch on Sunday. Sat outside in the sun and enjoyed a really delicious platter and some nice wine. Absolutely first class food and drink. The staff were top class - very attentive. Well done Padrone - made my day.
